Azerbaijan and Armenia announced on Thursday the achievement of a "peace agreement" following negotiations, the goal of which was to resolve the long-standing conflict between them.
The ceasefire agreement, which will come into effect immediately, was concluded after prolonged and tense negotiations between the leaders of the two countries. The President of Azerbaijan noted that the agreement includes important points relating to various aspects of resolving the conflict.
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan also emphasized the importance of the achieved agreement and expressed hope for the stabilization of the situation in the region.
The Secretary-General of the Organization of United Nations expressed confidence that the agreement will have a positive impact on the situation in the region and will lead to the strengthening of peace and security.
