A new report published by the Oxfam organization showed that one person with extreme wealth in Europe earns in just one week the same amount as a person from the number of poor people earns in their entire lifetime. "The wealthy in Europe treat our planet as their personal playground," stated the advisor on the issues of inequality and tax avoidance at Oxfam Kyrra Botaturu. The organization published this article ahead of the upcoming summit of the UN on climate change COP29, which will take place in Baku in November and is focused on financing projects for climate change mitigation in developing countries.
The organization, fighting poverty, aims to draw attention back to the wealthy people, calling for the introduction of taxes on wealth and higher taxes on assets such as private jets and luxury yachts.
